What is Facial Acupuncture?
Facial acupuncture improves and removes facial wrinkles and rejuvenates the face creating a radiant, glowing, and younger appearance without the use of chemicals, surgeries, or injections.
How does Facial Acupuncture work?
Acupuncture needles rejuvenate energy circulation in the facial tissues — skin, collagen, and muscle — creating a younger appearance. As we age, the facial muscles become shorter and thinner and our skin becomes thinner and looser. A combination of shorter muscles and looser skin creates excessive skin over the muscles which leads to wrinkling of the skin. Acupuncture treatment relaxes and thickens the muscles and makes the skin lying over the muscle thicker and tighter. Acupuncture also rejuvenates collagen (the tissue between the skin and muscle) and gives the face a fuller volume.
Are there any side effects with Facial Acupuncture?
On a few occasions, there could be minor bruising where the needles are inserted. To keep this to a minimum, we use the thinnest needles available, which also provide the most comfortable treatment with virtually no pain. We also recommend avoiding aspirin, vitamin E, blood thinners, and anti-inflammatory medications (Advil, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Aleve) for 5 days before each session. Drinking plenty of fluids before and after treatment is always beneficial as well.
How many Facial Acupuncture treatments will I need?
It varies with each individual, but for most people initial treatments consist of 4 to 10 sessions at one or two week intervals followed by maintenance sessions every 1-3 months.
How soon will I notice a difference?
Although some people notice immediate results after the first or second treatment, maximum results are achieved after 4 to 10 sessions and maintenance sessions extend the impact.
